AMETHYST

Healing Energy

The Amethyst is a beautiful purple stone that can be found in the center of special rocks known as geodes. The Amethyst is also a type of quartz. This violet gemstone is mined in places such as Brazil , Uruguay , Sri Lanka , Siberia, Canada , India, Bolivia and Argentina. In the US, however, most of the Amethyst comes from Zambia. When determining its value, collectors tend to judge the richness of color. The Amethyst represents the 6th and 17th wedding anniversary, and can help with emotional challenges thanks to its healing energy.

Royal and Rare

Amethyst was thought to be extremely rare until large deposits of the gemstone were found in Brazil. The name Amethyst comes from the greek word, “amethystos” meaning, “not drunken,” because the greeks believed that the stone could help prevent intoxication. Tibetans also valued the amethyst and viewed the gemstone as a very sacred stone with which they used to make prayer beads. Because of its color, the amethyst was considered very royal and rare and was used in ancient Egypt for jewelry. Also known for its healing abilities, the Amethyst was produced into amulets to provide healing and protection to the ancient European of soldiers.

Balancing Chakras

The Amethyst is used for healing purposes of the immune system, the respiratory tract and skin. On a physical level, the Amethyst is used for the balancing of Chakras, emotional and energetic boosts. The stone is a major purifier, canceling out surrounding negative energies. As the Greeks believed, this gemstone helps prevent intoxication not only on a physical but spiritual level. By bringing this stone into your home, your energy and Chakras will become balanced!
